1969

Karl Wirth GmbH in Walldorf, Germany offers the first light alloy wheels under the name RONAL (RON stands for the abbreviation of his middle name, AL stands for aluminum). The wheels are manufactured by an external partner using the sand casting process. By the end of the year, the product range includes 15 wheel sizes in the RONAL R1 design.

1970

The first plant, specializing in the manufacture of cast light-alloy wheels, originates in Forst, Germany. Manufacture of the first aluminum wheels starts the same year.

1971

RONAL receives the first order from an original equipment manufacturer, Ford.
