The decisive difference to the conventional low-pressure casting process: The mold is then cooled not only with air, but with air and water. As a result, the material solidifies faster and a higher elongation at break is achieved. Based on the improvement of the mechanical properties, the RONAL Smart Casting process helps reduce the wheel weight thanks to a thinner low bed wall thickness. Another positive aspect is the reduced carbon emissions through energy savings.
