In September 2022, the headquarters of RONAL AG in Härkingen (Switzerland) and the production site RONAL POLSKA Sp. z o.o. (SOP 2013) in Wałbrzych, Poland, were certified according to the ASI Performance Standard with a focus on material stewardship. In order to achieve group-wide certification, the scope was expanded in November 2022 to include the two additional Polish sites in Wałbrzych and in Jelcz-Laskowice, which were successfully audited.
ASI Performance Standard certification that focuses on “material stewardship” addresses topics such as product design, life cycle assessments, process waste management, end-of-life product collection and recycling.
We as the RONAL GROUP joined the ASI as a Downstream Supporter Member in 2018 and transitioned to an Industrial User in September 2020. We are proud to announce that we have now taken the next step of achieving Performance Standard Certification. Our success in achieving initial certification is a significant milestone in our sustainability strategy directed towards responsible production, procurement and handling of resources and raw materials. We support the goal of the ASI in promoting transparency and accountability in the sourcing and production of aluminum.
The ASI certification program is the only comprehensive voluntary initiative for recognition of responsible production, sourcing and use of aluminum in the aluminum value chain. The independent third-party audit of RONAL GROUP operations was conducted by TÜV Rheinland Cert GmbH.
We already source 100% of our aluminum from ASI members, of whom 90% are certified.
